Johannes von Römer

Johannes von Römer is supervising of the V-Dem data processing, the measurement model and the construction of the V-Dem dataset that is carried out by the Data Scientist. The assignment includes a broad range of duties relating to collection and processing of the V-Dem Data. He oversees all post-data collection processing of the data. This includes among others quality control checks, cleaning of the data and running as well as the V-Dem measurement model, which is based on Bayesian item response theory and he is involved in adapting it to changes in methodology and data characteristics. The supervision is performed in close collaboration with the V-Dem Project Managers on measurement methods.

Johannes von Römer is also Data Scientist for Demscore where he carries the overall responsibility for all data related work. Among other things, the data harmonization, processing, and developing the Demscore data pipeline.
